Massage Extras

I created this blog to air my frustrations about the misguided images of massage. I qualified as a masseuse, or should I say 'a bodyworker', in 2007 and since being made redundant at the end of 2008 I have a small, but successful clinic in Surrey treating all sorts of aches and pains and stress related tension.

But what continues to infuriate me is when I receive phone calls to ask "do you do extras?". Extras??!!! What the hell do they want?! I'm an aromatherapist, not a prostitute! I feel like pulling them through the phone and giving them a damn good hiding (excuse the french).

I can see I'm going to have to educate the men in this world that 'massage' is not another word for 'sex'! It is a genuine, health promoting treatment and if they would get their mind out of the gutter for two minutes then they might begin to understand.

Sorry this is not aimed at all men as I have a great number of male clients that wouldn't dream of insulting my intelligence by asking for such additions to my treatment.

It only takes a small minority of sick minded people to drag my profession down in the dirt and I for one intend to change people's opinion. Massage is NOT dirty or sordid and the women that provide these 'extra' services are not masseurs. They work in the sex industry. Please DO NOT get the two professions confused.

And thats all I have to say about that for now. Thanks for listening.
